Sheldon Pollock elected Fellow of the British Academy
The British Academy welcomes 86 new Fellows to its world-leading Fellowship, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to subjects within the humanities and social sciences. The 86 academics elected include 52 new UK-based Fellows, 30 overseas academics joining our Corresponding Fellowship and four new Honorary Fellows.

Rym Bettaieb awarded Innovative Course Design Award
Rym Bettaieb received the Provost’s Innovative Course Design Award to develop the Shahid Listening website. The goal of this project is to provide Columbia Arabic students with authentic listening resources accompanied by a guided learning strategy. Debashree Mukherjee awarded Humanities War & Peace Initiative Grant
Dr. Debashree Mukherjee has been awarded a Humanities War and Peace Initiative Grant for a collaborative project with Dr. Ying Qian (EALAC) and Dr. Laliv Melamed (Goethe University, Frankfurt).
