Sheldon Pollock has been awarded the Friedrich Weller Prize by the Saxon Academy of Sciences, Leipzig, and the University of Leipzig for his work A Rasa Reader: Classical Indian Aesthetics.
The Friedrich Weller Prize is awarded in recognition of outstanding works mainly to the history, art, literature, language, philosophy and religion of India, China and Buddhist Central Asia.
