The University of Pennsylvania is organizing a Hindi-Urdu workshop dedicated to exploring the richness of medieval and modern Awadhi literary traditions. During this workshop, Dr. Timsal Masud and Dr. Aftab Ahmad will lead a close reading of a 19th-century Awadhi marsiya by Khaleefa Muhammad Ali Sikandar, offering insights into its linguistic, cultural, and poetic dimensions. The workshop is free and open to all. The goal is to foster a collaborative, cross-scriptural atmosphere where participants of all skill levels engage with shared literary and cultural concerns. All texts will be available in Devanagari script with transliteration. Use the QR code to sign up.
