Saeed Honarmand is a lecturer and coordinator of the Persian department in The Middle East, South Asian and African Studies Department at Columbia University. He has been teaching Persian language, literature, and Iranian mythology and culture as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at The Ohio State University. He has also been the director of the Persian Immersion Summer program at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Ph.D. in comparative Studies (The Impact of the Modernity Discourse on Persian Fiction) from The Ohio State University. His Masters was on the Concept of time, space and Messianic Expectation in the Shahnameh. His current research interest is elaborating on the concept of self in Persian literature.
